Accounts Assistant – Jaguar Land Rover Stellenbosch

A newly created vacancy, suitable for an experienced accounting and finance candidate, has been created at our Jaguar Land Rover Dealership in Stellenbosch. This role would suit a numbers person with a passion for detail, systems and processes

Purpose of the Role:

To provide a support function for the Accountant and the Dealership, by maintaining efficient and effective accounting processes and systems of internal control and ensure that daily processing is current so that the necessary financial information is accessible when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Dealership Accountant
  • Monitoring daily communications and answering any queries
  • Debtors’ management and Credit control
  • Supplier invoice processing and filing
  • Issuing all sundry orders at request of Management
  • Reconciliation of creditor ledgers with suppliers’ statements
  • Processing daily payment requests for the Dealership Accountant to approve
  • Cashbook processing and performance of daily Bank reconciliation
  • Controlling Petty cash and Purchase cards
  • Liaising with clients and suppliers
  • Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers
  • Reception relief
  • Sundry admin tasks, as and when needed

Role Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate Grade 12, preferably with Maths and Accounting as subjects
  • A track record of 2-5 years working experience with an Accounts or Finance Department
  • It would be an added advantage if in possession of a tertiary certificate/diploma in Administration/Finance
  • Although not a prerequisite, preference will be given to candidates with experience within the automotive industry, especially within a Dealership.
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • Fully Bilingual

 Technical Skills Required:

  • Fully competent in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Working knowledge with Autoline would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of accounts processes
